"What We Know About the Kecksburg UFO"

Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Incident in 2015. This library program is in advance of the 50th Anniversary of Kecksburg on December 9, 1065.

Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Noon

We will be visited by Mr. Stan Gordon, national and international speaker on UFO's. This will be an illustrated lecture in advance of the 50th Anniversary of Kecksburg.

Books will be sold and signed. DVDs will also be

Strange Encounters of Pennsylvania - Jeannette Public Library

Eloisa James at Seton Hill University

Romance author and Shakespearean scholar Eloisa James will present a talk, "Shakespeare in Love: From the Renaissance to the Regency Romance," followed by a book signing and refreshments. Copies of Eloisa's works will be available for purchase.

This event is free and open to the public, but a ticket is required for entry. Reserve your ticket here or by calling 724-552-2929.

Winter Book Club Coming

A Winter Book Club will soon be forming.  The same title will be read throughout the County and that
title is Beethoven's Hair by Russell Martin. 
We will read the books in December
and the beginning of January. 

On Saturday, January 16th there will be a book discussion here at the Jeannette Public Library beginning at noon. 

Please call the library at 724-523-5702 to register for your book.  Those in attendance at the January
discussion will be eligible for a concert in
March of 2016 with a reduced ticket price.

The 2015 City Map and Information Guide for the City of Jeannette has arrived. Included is a full map of the City.

Guides are available at the library for $2.00 each.

Reading List for the 2015-2016 WIRC

Below are the reading lists for the 2015-2016 WIRC (Westmoreland Interscholastic Reading Competition) for Middle School and High School Students. Using their Jeannette Public Library Card, students can reserve the titles they want or call the library at 724-523-5702 and we will place a hold on the title and call when the title arrives.
